AAEA
ASIAN AMERICAN ENGINEERS & ARCHITECTS

AAEA History

The Asian American Engineers and Architects organization, known as AAEA, originated because several professional engineers and architects recognized the need within the industry to promote Asian Americans within the profession.  There was also a need for a forum where professional engineers and architects involved in the A/E industry could discuss work opportunities and establish a united position on critical issues.

In August of 1986, Mr. Tom Liu, Principal of T.C. Liu & Associates, Inc. sent invitations to the consulting engineers in the Houston area to attend an informal gathering with the hope that they also would be interesting in uniting.  The first gathering resulted in the formation of the Chinese American Engineers and Architects which was changed to the Asian American Engineers and Architects in 1996.
